Following APDE’s technological vision, the staff of Centro Escolar El Roble has implemented classroom technology and keeps on searching for innovative methods that allow students to develop the necessary skills to become competent citizens of the 21st. century, who respect ethical values and principles in a globalized and borderless world.
Centro Escolar El Roble has two technology labs and a mobile lab with laptops for the students’ use. It is important to implement technology not only in technology classrooms, but also in all of our classrooms so students are able to give it a practical use in all areas of their lives. This implementation is carried out through different educational technology devices that help make the students’ teaching-learning process richer in all the areas of our curriculum.
The correct use of technology requires a human resource that has the necessary skills to implement it in the educational field, and therefore, Centro Escolar El Roble develops continuous training and updating processes for the team of teachers, so they are able to improve the students’ learning through the most innovative technologies.

Our technology curriculum The new design of the Technology curriculum for students has been developed according to the specifications of the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) and to the NETS standards that promote taking students beyond the classroom and into a digital and technological outside world. |

The curriculum for the Technology class is divided in four areas: Digital Citizenship, Office automation and Multimedia, Programming and Robotics, and Innovation and Creativity.
Digital Citizenship Digital citizenship refers to the set of behavior rules regarding the use and management of information and communication technology. The areas that this concept comprehends promote ethics and respect mainly; some of them are: netiquette, communication, education, access, rights, risks, etc. Office automation and Multimedia Office automation and Multimedia are sets of digital tools and resources used to optimize tasks and processes: word processors, calculation sheets, slideshows, databases and speech recognition tools, for example. Programming and Robotics The main objective of Programming is to design and monitor a logical sequence, which is written in different codes and applications, to follow a determined instruction. It combines different disciplines such as mechanics, electronics, computer science, artificial intelligence (AI) and intelligent control. Innovation and Creativity Innovation and creativity are two essential characteristics of the professionals of the 21st. century that take us to new borders, and fulfill the ISTE-NETS standards.
